Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14, 1980) is an American actor, singer and dancer. In her early Broadway roles, she played her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in the Play. Annaleigh has worked on projects with award-winning directors as well as actors and producers throughout the course of her professional career. Ashford's upcoming project is an exclusive Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22 and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford currently works on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust opposite Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. The film will be aired on Disney DTC in the form of it becomes a Hulu Original. Ashford will be returning in 2023. He will play opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. The team behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at helm of the show. Ashford has been seen most recently as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The show centers around the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp at the center of the country's First Impeachment Proceedings during the Over an Century. Her two-season stint on the CBS show B Positive was her first big role. Also, she was a part of the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Not a stranger to Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. Additional Broadway performances include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford has been born in Denver is now based between Los Angeles and New York.
